All I can find on this is that it's an odd and rare error. I searched xbox fixes and all I can find for that is some BS about red ring fixes with epoxy. When I turn my system on I get a black screen with very little text and E74 error

Sorry for the slow response. that is a "rare" error if you compare it to the 3 red lights (RROD). But it is actually known to happen sometimes. Have you tried unplugging all the cables and then after about 10 seconds, reconnect everything. Did you put a DVD movie in around the same time the error occurred? When everything is reconnected, power it up (with no disc inside). If the error persists, just contact Xbox 360 support as if you would with a RROD. The E errors (E71, E74, etc.) are covered well beyond the 3 year RROD warranty. Just make sure you never modded, cracked the case, or voided the warranty in anyway and when you contact support, let them know exactly what appeared on the screen and you'll get the coffin in the mail.

They are already sending the box out so I can ship my 360 in to get fixed. You were right. The error I got is pretty much covered forever. Hope it doesn't take long because I tend to go through withdrawl.

Back and working! There's no issue with my XBLA games. I marked it under the disc tray before I sent it in because my brother said his friend did it and got a different one. But the games work on everyone's profile. So thank you.

Just an update on my Xbox. It's still working fine. It seems a little quieter than it did before too. Still don't know what the error was caused by, but the disc drive use to be louder.

Have faith in your 360 and it will never disappoint U. You hafta massage your 360 each night before bed and never let it feel alone. This will give you gaming maximus pleasure. WHAT!?!
