After a few weeks of traditional and mainstream videogame characters being chosen as the Cosplay Babe of the Week, we wanted to go in a slightly different direction. While this week's character can certainly be considered a babe and has appeared in many videogames across multiple platforms, she's likley known more for appearing in the ultra-popular anime series - Bleach. This week's Cosplay Babe of the Week is our favorite 10th Division Lietenant Rangiku Matsumoto.
About the character: A lieutenant in the 10th division of The Gotei 13. A very carefree, lazy and beautiful woman who tries to uses her charms to win over any situation. Her Zanpakuto is named Haineko and allows her to turn her sword to ash and control it to envelop her enemies.
About the games: The first game to be released from the Bleach series was Bleach: Heat the Soul, which debuted on March 24, 2005, and the latest release being Bleach: Soul Carnival 2, which was released on December 10, 2009. There are 19 games holding the "Bleach" name, not including the two crossover games, Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars, which feature characters from numerous Weekly Shōnen Jump anime and manga series. Most of the games have been released only in Japan, though Sega has localized the first Wii game, and the first three Nintendo DS games for North America, Australia and Europe. Reception toward the games has been mixed, ranging from "the best fighter", for Bleach: The Blade of Fate, to "(not) a bad first effort, but the competition is leaving this one in the dust", for Bleach: Shattered Blade.
